Last weekend, Ashlyn had her first birthday party that was just about her and her friends. She had a party with friends last year, but there was one of Emma's friends there too, along with a few other friend-siblings of various ages. So Saturday was the first time Ashlyn had a group of friends over, and they were just her friends. She was beyond excited! In fact, she was so excited I think she may have scared her first guest who arrived. You seriously would have thought I had fed the girl nothing but sugar during the hours leading up to the party. (So glad birthdays come just once a year!)
Once everyone arrived, the girls had fun coloring picture frames. We also made some princess crowns with ribbons. The girls decided it would be fun to ambush the unsuspecting boy with their crowns. The girls were beside themselves with laughter.
But Josiah just continued to run around, none the wiser, and happy for the extra attention.
There were presents...
...and an ice cream cake with a rainbow and flowers (as requested). But we saved the cake until the very end--loaded them up with sugar and then sent them home! ;)
The time went quickly and the birthday girl had a great time. And once everyone left, she promptly crashed for a nice, long afternoon nap.
Since then, my week has been all about getting ready for the next big celebration. There's still so much to do! I'd best be getting off of here, eh? Stay tuned!
