Moving Right Along!

The progress on the room addition this week has been amazing. When the week started, we had a block foundation for the crawl space, and that was it. Five days later, the outside is nearly complete--shingles are on the roof and siding is almost finished! Next week electric and hvac are coming. Things are moving quickly!

Here are some pictures from the last few days.
Thursday the guys worked like crazy to finish the rafters and get a roof on. We thought they would just get it tar-papered and shingle it the next day. But they ended up calling another crew over in the evening, and they finished shingling it all that day. The final wall of the room also went up on Thursday.

Friday they framed out the inside of the room, tore off the old siding, and started work on the new siding. They also put in the windows and got ready to move the doors around.

Today (Saturday) they took out the door between the rooms and moved it to the outside of the addition.

They also installed the new door between the rooms.

They finished framing the closet. If you look between the beams on top, you can see how they framed the new roof right over the old roof.

And they almost finished the siding. I think they're coming back tomorrow to try to wrap that up.
