Ride Like the Wind

(Ok, maybe not like the wind we've had lately...)
Emma has enjoyed getting out on her bicycle a couple times lately. Once we figured out that her seat and handle bars could be lowered to fit her this year, we were all excited for her to give it a try. The jr. high, which is about a block from here, has some nice wide and flat sidewalks, and some nice big parking lots that are perfect for someone just learning to ride. So before the hurricaine force winds and sub-freezing temperatures came upon us yesterday, Dakota took Emma over there for a ride. She's doing quite well at it; I only wish we had realized sooner that we could adjust the bike to fit her this year, so she could have had more time to ride it this summer. Oh well... next year.

(By the way, for all you safety nuts out there who are screaming at your computer screens, "Where is her bike helmet?" let me just say, I was feeding the baby at the time and did not see them leave. But I was assured later that she was only moving at a speed of about a mile per hour and her dad was just inches away. (Except when he was taking these pictures.) Oh, and let's just take a quick survey--all those who wore bike helmets when they were kids, raise your hands. Thought so...) ;)
