Yesterday was a fun day! Some good friends of ours from college (Scott and Lisa), along with their two kids, came and spent part of the day with us. We enjoyed catching up, since I think it had been a little more than three years since we'd last seen each other. That's one of the things I like about good friendships--you can go three years without seeing each other, and when you do get together, you just pick up right where you left off. Our kids got along so great, too.
They have

two--Kenton, who is 5, and Grace, who is 3. They played trains, little people, piano and shopping, and then they took a break to eat. And would you believe, it, Emma finally found some friends who eat at her speed! (Other kids usually polish off their whole plate by the time she has taken 3 bites.) Then it was back to playing--on

the swing set this time. Emma played so hard, that by the time our friends left, late in the afternoon, she crashed hard and fast.
While Emma slept, Ashlyn found one of the toys the kids had been playing with, and decided she needed to have it. And why not--everyone loves a Slinky!!
Later, we woke Emma up for dinner, but she sat at the table limply and complained that she was too tired to eat. After a while, she found the energy to finish her food, and then to help Ashlyn eat some of her dinner. I think both Emma and Ashlyn got a kick out of Emma manning the spoon.

All in all, it was a fun day.
