The girls were spoiled with more presents, and they loved every bit of it. One of Emma's favorites was a ballerina music box, which was the one thing she was so disappointed to not have received on Christmas morning. She wound the crank and watched with fascination as the ballerina pirouetted in circles, again and again and again... The gift was even more special, as she learned that both of her grandmas were helping to send her to ballet lessons starting in a couple weeks. She can't wait to start!Ashlyn surprised us by thoroughly enjoying every gift of clothing she received. Not only did she ask to try on every outfit right away, but she wanted to try on any clothes Emma received too! Her favorites were the jackets, because they had zippers she could unzip by herself. She also loved the blanket grandma made just for her. When I tried to fold it up to put it away, she insisted on having it and spreading it on the floor again.
Both of the girls loved playing with their cousin, Noah. And Noah really enjoyed the slide.
All of the kids liked the books and being read to in the afternoon.
And Dakota and Emma treated us to another Christmas performance.
We wish the weather would have been better and allowed us to spend more time together. But I suppose something is better than nothing, and we're thankful that we could all get together, even if it was just for a short time. Now the Christmas celebrations are over and our blood pressures are beginning to come down, along with some of the decorations. (Snowmen are allowed to stay up a little longer than the rest.) Thank you to all of our families for helping to make Christmas special for the girls and for us. We enjoyed seeing you all and look forward to doing it again in the new year.
