We had a conference with Emma's teacher this morning. She said Emma is doing very well. She knows all her numbers, letters, colors, shapes, etc. (Well, except a trapezoid--we'll have to work on that one.) We were pleased to hear her teacher say that Emma is very smart for her age. (Who's surprised? Anyone? Anyone?) She suggested that we might want to consider moving Emma up to the kinder-prep class next year instead of the regular 4-yr old class, to challenge her a little more. We'll have to think about that one, but it was nice to have it suggested anyway. The teacher said that Emma needs to work on listening a little more instead of talking to friends when a teacher is talking, but she also made it sound like that's pretty normal for this age. I think Emma's social skills have been her biggest achievement this year. Before preschool, she had one best friend, and wasn't really interested in making other friends. But she has really come out of her shell this year and learned how to get along with and interact with other kids her age. Overall, it was a good conference, and we were glad to get such a good report. Emma says she really likes going to preschool and she's excited to get to keep going again next year too.

Preschool Conferences
