Happy Birthday Ashlyn!

I can't believe my baby is one already! Today is Ashlyn's first birthday, and this first year has gone by so fast!

Here are some facts about Ashlyn at one year old: She has 6 teeth.--4 on top, 2 on the bottom. She wears mostly size 18 months clothes. She eats some baby food and some table food. (She still mostly prefers baby food.) She's got little curls all along the back of her head. She has been walking for about 2 and 1/2 months. She can climb up the stairs by herself. And she says several "words," including, mama, dada, Emma, see, this, hi, nigh-nigh, by, nah (no), more (in sign language), and there are probably one or two others I'm forgetting.

She has always been a Mommy & Daddy's girl, but she warms up to others a little more quickly now than she used to. She's usually pretty easy going and laughs easily (at least around us). She's definitely a homebody and prefers to be at home more than any place else. She's been such a joyful addition to our family, and we thank God every day for what a blessing it is to have her.

And without further ado, here are some pictures we had taken today of the girls. These are Emma's 4 year, and Ashlyn's 1 year pictures. It wasn't easy, but our photographer was patient, and did manage to get some good shots of Ashlyn smiling. Emma did a great job, but Ashlyn sure made the photographer work for her money!
