We went down on Sunday and stopped at a friend's house along the way. Our girls had a great time playing with their girls, and we all wished we could have stayed longer.
Then it was on to the farm! Dakota's parents and sisters were there waiting for us. And his grandma came for dinner. It was a beautiful afternoon and evening, so we spent pretty much all of it outside.
During our time there we explored the farm, picked lots of pears, fed apples to the horses and had pony rides (the girls).

Grandpa even chased down a chicken for the kids to pet. Josiah thought
that was quite a hoot! Then the chicken flew up into a pine tree and
made itself comfortable there.
Not pictured: camping (just the girls and Dakota), and fishing at the pond. The camera was with me at those times, and I was busy sleeping inside the house with Josiah, and keeping the boy occupied the next morning instead of letting him launch himself into the pond. Plus, the wind must have changed that morning, because my allergies kicked in and I couldn't go outside without terrible fits of sneezing.
Oh well, the kids had a fun time, and Josiah grew rather attached to his grandma.
Hopefully we can make it down again sometime before the cold weather keeps up all cooped up indoors for the winter!
