This week we made some fun fireworks--the kind that are safe for kids!
We started with some empty toilet paper and paper towel tubes.
The girls painted the tubes while I traced circles and cut them out.
I cut a slit in each circle and used that to twist them into little cone shapes.
When the paint was done drying, we glued the cones to the tops of the tubes.
After the glue dried, we put candy in the tubes and stuffed them with tissues. Finally, we taped a ribbon to the bottom tissue, and we were done!
The girls had fun giving these to friends and neighbors this week. When the recipient pulls on the ribbon, the tissue and candy comes out. Surprise!
Happy 4th of July!
