Additional Addition Updates

While we were gone on our trip, work didn’t stop on the addition. The electrician and h-vac workers were here, installing outlets, lights and vents.

The day after we came home, the insulation work was done. They blew in the insulation around the room and started installing drywall on the higher parts of the walls.
The next day the rest of the drywall was finished.
After that, the mudding and taping began.
The drywaller is scheduled to come back later today to spray texture on the walls and ceiling. The trim was delivered this morning, and will be cut and put in place early next week. This coming week should also see a final grade with dirt work in the yard, and a step put in place outside the door.

We’ve been told that the project may be ready to hand over to us for painting and flooring by the end of this coming week. There will still be more work and decisions that will need to be made after our contractor’s work is finished—paint colors, flooring patterns, closet shelving, and that sort of thing. But the bulk of the project will be done and we will be glad for that.
