Picking on a Poor Pear Tree
Two weekends ago we went apple picking at an orchard. Then this past Saturday, we decided we hadn't gotten our fill of fruit picking, so we went to Dakota's boss's house and picked some more! He had some apple and pear trees with branches so full, they were nearly weighed down to the ground. So we picked some apples for baking, but we mostly bagged a bunch of pears that we hope will soften and be good for eating soon. Dakota's boss has a son in kindergarten, a daughter Emma's age, and a baby girl Ashlyn's age. Emma had a great time running around with the kids. They picked a few pears and found a caterpillar to play with. Even Ashlyn tried to get into the picking by pulling a few leaves off the trees.
