Summer Camp--The Rest of the Week

Emma LOVED her week at camp! She only showered once all week, stayed up late every night, ate cookies every day, had a mud fight, slept outside overnight in a hammock, went exploring in the woods, caught tadpoles, bugs and snakes, rode a zipline, and made a bunch of new friends! What's not to like?

We gave Emma one of our less expensive cameras to take to camp with her. Unfortunately, she forgot she had the camera until late in the second-to-last day of camp. All the same, here are a few of her pictures.

Below are two of the three counselors for her cabin. The first one was the head counselor, and Emma happened to know her from our church. Not expecting to know anyone there, Emma was pretty excited to walk into her cabin and find someone she knew.

A friend she made in her cabin.

When we arrived on Friday to pick her up, her cabin showed us some of the things they had learned--a little singing, a little dancing.  And the counselors handed out awards.  Emma received the "most enthusiastic" award, because they said she had been kind of shy and nervous at first, but came out her shell the second day or so and was pretty high energy after that.

We continue to hear camp stories from her here and there, as she remembers them.  Emma is already making plans to go back there every year until she's too old, and then she wants to be a counselor there.
