Summer Camp--the Drop Off

The week after Ashlyn's drama classes, Emma had her own week-long experience--at summer camp! We drove her out to camp Sunday afternoon.  To say she was excited would be the understatement of the year!  We got her checked in, looked around a little, and took her things to her cabin.  After picking out a bunk and helping to get her things arranged, she didn't see the need to keep us any longer.  So we said our goodbyes and left her with her cabin.
Outside Emma's cabin, Ashlyn found an old tire swing.  She tried that out for a little while, and then we explored some other areas of the camp without Emma.
We found a small playground with an old merry-go-round, which Ashlyn thought was pretty interesting.
After playing for a while, we headed back home.  (Josiah had stayed at home with a friend, since this all took place during his nap time.)  And speaking of naps... this one couldn't keep her eyes open on the way home.

It was different not having Emma at home with us for the week, but we managed. Ashlyn built a jungle hut and had fun playing with the animals.

We also visited the animal rescue league, met up with a friend at a park, and did some painting.  (Ashlyn came up with a list of things she wanted to do while Emma was at camp.)  We had a fun week, but the days didn't pass nearly as quickly for us as they did for Emma.  More on her week at camp to come...
