Run, Run as Fast as you Can!

Saturday morning we packed up the family and went for a run.  Clive had their annual running festival.  Dakota left a little earlier than the rest of us so he could run in the 10K race.  He ended up taking second in his age group.  The rest of us showed up in time for the 1 mile race.

Last year I ran with Ashlyn, but this year Dakota ran with her (pushing Josiah in the stroller), and I was the cheerleader and family photographer. 

Emma found a friend at the race, and they ran pretty closely most of the time.  Her friend led for a majority of the race, but Emma kicked in some extra energy at the run to the finish line, and finished just ahead of her friend.  Her time was about 20 seconds better than last year, and she was third for her age group.

Josiah ran in the Tadpole Trot.  And while he can certainly be one fast boy, he didn't have much interest in racing across to the finish line that day.  He would only run if Dakota ran with him.  So it was a slow jog to the finish line. 

The kids all got treats after their races and thought it was a fun morning!
