We arrived in FL just after 9pm, and waited for quite a while to get our rental car. On the hour-long drive from the airport to the hotel, the girls fell asleep in the car. Once we got to the hotel (sometime after 11) there was more waiting. No one had paid attention to the note in our reservation or the call we had made requesting a crib. It did eventually come; we got the girls and ourselves ready for bed, and it was lights out.

Take Off!
Late Wednesday afternoon we said goodbye to the snow and boarded a plane for FL. It was Ashlyn’s first time on a plane, and I was very much the nervous one. Since she is not 2 years old yet, the airline gave us the option of letting her be a lap child and fly for free, or get her her own seat and pay a lot more $$. Yeah, that was a hard call to make. The only hitch in that was that Ashlyn is NOT a lap child—she doesn’t sit still for hardly anything. She was totally fascinated and very excited about flying in the plane. When we started going really fast, the engines roared, and we took off, she squealed and laughed. Shortly after take off, we fed the girls some dinner we had brought. But after dinner, like the little monkey she is, Ashlyn wanted to climb around and explore. In order to keep peace with the other people on the plane around us, we broke out the DVD player and turned on a little Super Why. That did the trick. She sat still and calm for the rest of the flight.
