Day 3

We hadn’t planned to do any parks on Saturday, which turned out to be a good thing, because it rained quite a bit and wasn’t much fun to be outside. So we slept in a little and took our time getting around in the morning. We spent some of the morning and part of the afternoon at Downtown Disney, ducking in and out of shops and avoiding the rain. Ashlyn got some mouse ears and a stuffed Roo. Of the seemingly endless options for stuffed animals and characters, Roo was her favorite.

We also found a toy store that had a build-your-own Mr. Potato Head section. Basically, for one low price, you get a box and a Mr. Potato Head, and stuff the box with as many parts and pieces as you can fit in. The only rule for checking out was that the box had to close. It was amazing how much stuff we could fit into the box! And so many of the pieces were special things that you could only find there.

(Ashlyn is showing the Mickey Mouse shaped ice creams, which were some of the unique pieces we found there.)

I had fun trying to find new ways to fit more pieces into the box, and the girls had fun dumping the box out and playing with it all at the hotel later that night.

A little more souvenir shopping, and we headed back for afternoon naps. That evening, we made dinner in the kitchenette of our hotel room, and the girls played with their Potato Head and Roo toys.
