Young and Old

Sunday we went to the nursing home for our monthly visit.  Josiah is so hooked on Legos these days, I thought he might like to take some to the nursing home with him.  So we packed a small box, which he happily took in with him.

He seemed to enjoy sharing the Legos with the people there.  On his own, he walked up to a table where a man was sitting by himself and said, "Do you want to play Legos with me?"  Then the two of them proceeded to build some stacks of blocks together.

Josiah took them around to other tables and shared them with a few other ladies, showing them what he could build, and letting them put some blocks together too.

Ashlyn took her stuffed elephant around with her, and felt more brave about talking to the people there.  That was really quite an accomplishment for her!  Usually she is so shy and clingy, I can't take a step without tripping over her.  I don't know what made the difference Sunday, but it was wonderful to see her smiling and talking to people there!

Both of the girls prepared some piano pieces to play--one duet that they played together, and one song each, on their own.  They did a nice job with all of their pieces.

That half hour visit sure went quickly this month!  Everyone is looking forward to next month's visit now.
