A Couple Hours Back in Time

Living History Farms opened for the season last week.  And on Saturday, they invited all of their members and volunteers for a free afternoon of pie, ice cream, crafts, games, and music.  It was a beautiful day, so we jumped at the chance to spend a couple hours outside!

We started with a horse-drawn wagon ride out to the picnic area.  Then we had some pie and ice cream, while listening to the live band.

The kids played some games,

and climbed a tree.

We checked out the school house and practiced "doing school" on some old slates.

Of course Josiah found a giant stick as tall as himself.  But the Jedi master wasn't allowed to wield it for long, as he came close to taking out his sisters a couple times.

The kids tried out a very primitive version of a treadmill.

And then they ran through the town!

We'll be back again soon, Living History Farms!
