April Adventures

It's only the 5th of April, but with everything we had going on this past week, it feels as though it should be the 15th already!  This past week was one of the busiest we've had in a while!

Here are some quick snapshots of a few of the things we had going on this week...

The beginning of the week started out with some decent weather and a surprise call from the place we had ordered our new swing set from.  They initially told us they'd call with 2-3 days notice before they came to install it.  But Monday they called while I was making lunch and asked if they could come to set it up in about 45 minutes!  We hadn't even finalized where we wanted to put it yet!  But they came anyway, and by the end of the afternoon we had a new swing set all set up!

The guys still have to come back to put the tarp on over the tower.  Apparently the one they came with wasn't the right size.

The kids took turns playing (spying) on the deck while the guys built the swing set.  I think they just wanted to know the instant the guys were done, so they could go play on it.

Also during the first half of the week, Emma was working on designing her race car for the Awanas Grand Prix.  She designed a bird-car that was supposed to stare down and intimidate the competition. 

Wednesday night was the big race.  It was interesting to see how many different car designs the kids had come up with.

Emma's car came in second in a few races, but she didn't win any prizes.  Still, she had a good time making and racing it.

Later in the week, when the weather turned cold and rainy, it was hard for the girls to concentrate on their school work.  But is it any wonder when you have a little brother doing this next to you while you're trying to work?

We need some more sunshine and warm temperatures to motivate us to get our work done quickly, so we can get outside and play!  (And burn off some extra energy!)

And finally, before Emma's gymnastics class this morning, we found a few minutes to do a science experiment she had been wanting to do.  It involved filling a plastic bag with water and sticking pencils through it. She thought it was pretty cool.

There was more to our busy week than all that, but those were some of the highlights.  This coming week promises to be at least equally as busy, but less interesting, as it mostly involves cleaning the house in preparation for family visiting.
