Lofty Dreams Fulfilled!

So, for those of you keeping up with our bunk bed drama fest that started way back in January, I can report our story now has a happy ending! (If you're not familiar with the story, you can read about it here.)

Thursday night the bunk beds were delivered and brought up to the girls' bedroom for assembly. Yea! But wait! It can't be that easy, right? Upon putting the pieces together, it was discovered that some measurements were off and the whole thing was longer than it should have been. That wouldn't have been such a big deal if we had a longer wall, but we don't. It was covering up the light switch.

So the builder came back Friday morning to make some necessary adjustments and to move the light switch in the room. By noon we were back in business! Last night we put mattresses and sheets on the beds, and the girls enjoyed their first night in their new beds.

Here are some before, middle, and after pictures...

First, the room before:

Next, the temporary bunk beds a friend found for us:

And finally, the finished product!

This is a very cool loft! There are 14 super huge drawers--5 in each dresser tower, and 4 in the stairs. Dakota and his brother moved the old dresser out of the room today so we could reclaim some more floor space! There are also 4 big shelves for books and toys behind the dresser towers, and a small movable shelf for the top bunk. It's awesome! And we're so glad our story FINALLY has a happy ending!
