Anyway, we had a fun weekend of shopping, hanging out, swimming, playing super solitaire, and all that sort of stuff. Next time I think we need to find a way to create an extra day in between Saturday and Sunday so we'll have a little more time for it all.
Here were a couple highlights from the weekend:
Jess brought 2 fancy dresses she had outgrown and gave them to Emma for playing dress up. You would have thought Emma had won the lotto, the way her face lit up. She wasted no time in putting one on, and insisting that Jess try to squeeze into the other one. Then they spent the afternoon turning Emma into a fairy. Jess said there were three things Emma had to do to become a fairy--read a book, cross the Lava lake, and fly. By the end of the afternoon, we had our very own five year old fairy.
Then it was time for swimming.
Emma was anxious to show off her new swimming skills and tricks. And she was so proud to add another trick to her list of things she can do. Jess helped her figure out how to do a handstand under water. We need to work a bit on her form, but I was really surprised at how well she could hold her legs up and stay underwater so long.
Saturday night we stayed up late, playing 6-way solitaire. It's very fast paced and really crazy, especially with that many people! When we were too tired to play anymore, we watched a movie and then went to bed.
Sunday and good-bye time came too fast. It was a fun weekend, and we should do it again--BEFORE next summer.
